What a difference a few months makes. After posting on the ins and outs of hotel coldos, the trend seems to be reversing itself. While some hotel condo projects in downtown Chicago are thriving (Trump, Raffaello), some are not fairing so well (Ambassador East, Solis Chicago) as reported by Alby Gullan of Crain’s in a recent article entitled “Condo hotels hit the wall“. Developers seem to be scaling back plans and even dropping out of some projects. Check the article out as it presents a great color coded map of the hotel condo projects in the area.
