Condos n’ Cocktails in Chicago

Cocktails and DreamsShowed several condos last weekend in Chicago’s popular Roscoe Village and Southport Corridor that all happened to be on the floor above retail space.  Something to consider when contemplating the purchase above a retail establishment is the type of retail that is allowed in the first floor space.  Important to do some due diligence here as it would be unfortunate to move in and then find out that a bar, dance club, or restaurant was going in below you.  While some may consider living above these establishments a convenience, most would probably consider the late night hours, noise, and sometimes odors a drawback. The listing agent should be able to provide insight into what type of retail is allowed and the condo documentation should validate the type of retail that is and isn’t permitted.  Party on.
